Balancing Machine System Modernization

The mechanical structure, motor and drive system of your machine are retained; the measuring electronics, computer and software are replaced with the new-generation MBS Balance measuring system. The system is then calibrated on site and training is provided to the users.

  • Measurements are recorded part by part, with PDF reports.

  • iBalancer-compatible AIO operator PC.
  • Cable set (control cabinet wiring revision and documentation).
  • Type A control cabinet or Type B control console (depending on the selected option).

  • Machine frame and mechanical structure.
  • Motor and drive system.
  • Existing control cabinet (with the Existing Control Cabinet option).
  • Sensors (if found suitable in the on-site test).

Repair of faults in the mechanics, motor and drive is not part of the modernization; it is quoted separately if required.

Control unit options

  • Option 1 · Existing Control Cabinet: The new measuring system is installed in your existing control cabinet. On-site work takes longer, as the existing cabinet is modified.
  • Option 2 · Type A Control Cabinet: Enclosed cabinet, protected against dust. Delivered pre-wired.
  • Option 3 · Type B Control Console: Ergonomic operator console with integrated controls, protected against dust. Delivered pre-wired.

iBalancer · Digital Balancing Software

iBalancer is developed in-house by MBS Balance in Germany and runs on licensed Windows.

  • Static and dynamic rotor types.
  • Tolerance calculation per ISO 21940-11.
  • Polar and numerical display.
  • Real-time in / out of tolerance indication.
  • Repeatability of consecutive measurements.
  • Part-by-part records, PDF reports and printing.

Measuring steps

  1. Rotor data entry: Rotor type, dimensions and balance quality grade (G) are entered.
  2. Measuring run: Static and dynamic unbalance (amount and angle) is measured.
  3. Unbalance correction: Unbalance amount and angle are displayed for correction.
  4. Check run: A check run is made and a balancing report is generated.

Modernization process

  1. Survey: Machine and control cabinet data are reviewed.
  2. Preparation: The system is configured for your machine.
  3. Installation: Mounting and connections are carried out on site.
  4. Calibration: Calibration and verification tests are performed.
  5. Handover: Training is given and the system is handed over with a report.

Which machines?

Applicable to horizontal, vertical and turbo balancing machines from different manufacturers. Suitability is confirmed after review of the machine data and photos of the control cabinet.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a modernization take?

The duration depends on the selected control unit and the condition of the machine. Type A and Type B are delivered pre-wired, which shortens on-site work; with the existing control cabinet it takes longer. The exact duration is confirmed after the survey.

Can my existing sensors be used?

Yes, if they are found suitable in the on-site test. Otherwise, they are replaced with your approval.

Are mechanical faults included?

No. Repair of faults in the mechanics, motor and drive is not part of the modernization; it is quoted separately if required.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes. Warranty terms for the newly supplied hardware are stated in the quotation.

My machine is an older model. Can it still be modernized?

In most cases, yes. The decisive factor is the condition of the mechanical structure, which is assessed during the survey.

Where is the work carried out?

Installation, calibration and training are carried out on site, where your machine is located.
