How to set up a rotor balancing machine — leveling the machine, mounting the rotor on the work supports, and connecting the drive (belt drive vs end / cardan-shaft drive). A correct setup is what makes an accurate, repeatable balancing run possible.

Most balancing errors start before the rotor even spins — a machine that isn't level, supports set wrong, or the wrong drive for the rotor. In this video we walk through the full setup sequence on a horizontal balancing machine: getting the machine level on its foundation, positioning and adjusting the work supports, seating the rotor correctly on its journals, and choosing between a belt drive and an end (cardan-shaft) drive depending on the rotor. We finish with the final checks to run before the very first spin, so your first measurement is clean and repeatable.
